#FOTD: “When you don’t give AF but still want to look pretty AF” Summer Look

Minimal product, maximum impact. Slap-and-glow.

Belo Sun Expert Tinted Sunscreen in Medium-to-Deep

Tinted Moisturizer and Sunscreen in one, easy to blend, sets to a soft matte finish – this one’s a winner in my book. A big heads up though – on its own, you need to be fair as the shade runs light. As a primer underneath your real base though, you can neutralize the shade mismatch with your correct shade of base applied after this. I use my hands to apply and blend. I make sure to bring it down to my neck and dab some on my ears as well. When it comes to sun damage: Protect or Regret!!

Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel

I applied this bronzer on the perimeters of my face to give my face dimension and balance without actually contouring; I left the middle part un-touched. The effect? The middle of face looks highlighted while the outside looks warm and glow-y. I buffed this product using Zoeva’s Face Definer brush. I am partial to crème over powder products when it’s humid because crème’s look more natural, especially under sunlight. When applied and set correctly, it has better staying power than powder.

Makeup Forever Aqua Brow in Taupe

Oh the horror of the melting brows under intense heat! Not with the MUFE Aqua Brow! This is a budge-proof, water-proof formula favored by a lot of women who cannot live without #browsonfleek. I like applying this with a stiff brow brush that allows me feather-like strokes on my brows. This crème formula can tend to look too heavy when used liberally so I recommend being light-handed with this product.

Lancôme Grandiose Waterproof Mascara in Noir

The PROS of waterproof formula other than the obvious is that it holds a curl better and that you won’t see your mascara breaking down at the end of the day. The CON which is too much of a con is that it’s a pain-in-the-ass when you need to take it off. Not with this Grandiose Waterpoof mascara! I have not found a mascara formula that performs as awesome as the Grandiose mascara. I’ve dipped in the pool wearing it and the mascara didn’t budge. But when I used my Shu Uemura cleansing oil to wash my face at the end of the day, I didn’t need a separate eye makeup remover to completely remove all traces of mascara. When I used a drugstore gel cleanser to remove my makeup the next day, it washed off as easily as the day before. Another plus? It has a patented swan-neck wand that allows you to access and coat every lash from inner to outer corner. I am not usually fussy about mascaras but this is my favorite mascara formula to date!

Makeup Forever Rouge Artist Intense in Mat 1

I could go bold and rock an orange or a bright coral but I decided tie this effortless look together with an understated nude lips. I haven’t hopped on the liquid lipstick boat yet, so I’m still a strong lover of matte lipstick formulas as my go-to long-lasting lipstick. MUFE’s RAI line is not drying to my lips. I wouldn’t say it’s completely comfortable (NARS Audacious lipstick still holds that reign, IMHO) but it sits well on my lips. Mat 1 is a pinky beige, which I find is universally flattering; your lip undertone will just play a part on how the shade lays on your lips.

I wore this look during my recent beach getaway and I just have to share it to you for inspiration!

The look is neither precise nor perfect. Carefree beauty, that’s where it’s at.
