#FOTD: ‘No foundation’ Perfect-for-Summer Look

I don’t know about you but I hate the feeling of makeup on my face on humid days.

I get goosebumps at the sight and thought of makeup melting off my face. I’ve been playing around with the makeup look that’s fresh and polished but a) does not take a lot of effort and b) does not use a gazillion products. Here’s how I achieved this look:

Piled on SPF, currently loving Shu Uemura Block Booster which is both sunblock and primer.

Pretend you had 8hrs of sleep:

On the darkest recesses of my under eye, applied Giorgio Armani corrector in Orange. To brighten and diffuse shadows even more, applied Giorgio Armani High Precision Retouch concealer (combined 3.5 and 2). Set lightly with NARS Loose Translucent Setting Powder in Crystal.

Dusted Hourglass Luminous Light on the high points of my face – top
and arch of brows, bridge of my nose, top of cheekbones,
Cupid’s bow and chin.

I normally have a pink flush on my cheeks. By not using any foundation, I let my own skin pigment show thru, which also means less layers of makeup. It will always be the most natural blush ever!

Pause oil production:

Set my face with a very light coverage lit-from-within powder: Laura Mercier Candleglow Sheer Perfecting Powder. I like putting powder that doesn’t look like powder. I despise the heavily powdered look or even just powder on my face. I love dewy skin because it’s just more beautiful than flat matte skin.
Insert Candleglow

Perk up those brows:

Shu Uemura Hard Pencil ‘6’ then set with K-Palette Real Lasting Eyebrow Mascara is the fastest way to define your brow without looking overdone.

Bobbi Brown in Uber Nude, applied thrice,
each layer blotted with a tissue,
which gives a stained lips effect.

Perfect that glow-y look:

Set your face with moisturizing spray like Tatcha Dewy Skin Mist. Do one last pat-over with your beauty sponge to ensure that everything looks very natural and organic to your skin.
